چکیده

Background Salivary Gland ultrasound is a sensitive point of care investigation for the assessment salivary gland dysfunction. It can be abnormal in patients with primary Sjögren’s syndrome(pSS), Sarcoidosis, IgG4 disease, Systemic sclerosis, Infections and Tumors. Objectives To understand utility Anti-SSA, ANA Anti-SSA/SSB diagnosing Syndrome Sicca symptoms. Methods In current study, referred to department Clinical Immunology Rheumatology, King George’s Medical University, Symptoms, Ultrasound was performed those (Hocevar Score ≥1) serological evaluation were performed. The Sensitivity Specificity Hocevar score ≥17 diagnose assessed, ANA, Anti-SSA Anti-SSB positivity assessed. Results A total 78 sicca symptoms included these, 36 diagnosed syndrome 42 other diseases, including 12 Rheumatoid arthritis, 8 lupus erythematosus, 7 systemic 4 related disease Sarcoidosis. did not have any autoimmune rheumatic after evaluation. mean age pSS 36.42 ±11.68 non-pSS 44.45 ±15.31. has sensitivity specificity 80.56% 78.57%, respectively. Adding screening protocol improved but reduced while adding sensitivity, specificity, positive likelihood ration, accuracy area under curve pSS. Conclusion effective tools diagnosis Syndrome. Salivary and lacrimal gland dysfunction (sicca syndrome) after radioiodine therapy.

UNLABELLED Salivary gland dysfunction has been described in patients undergoing radioiodine therapy but associated lacrimal gland dysfunction (sicca syndrome) has never been reported. We conducted a prospective cohort study with follow-up for up to 3 y in a tertiary care university center to determine the prevalence of sicca syndrome in patients after high-dose radioiodine treatment. METHODS ...

Sjögren’s Syndrome and Sicca Symptoms in Patients with Systemic Sclerosis

Introduction: Several autoimmune diseases can be accompanied by dysfunction of the salivary glands, regardless of the presence or absence of association with Sjögren’s syndrome (SS). A recent study by Maeshima et al. found salivary hyposecretion in 58.3% of patients with various connective tissue diseases, particularly systemic sclerosis (SSc). Objective: To determine the prevalence of SS and s...

Role of salivary anti-SSA/B antibodies for diagnosing primary Sjögren’s syndrome

UNLABELLED The diagnosis of primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS) is complex, and the saliva test is a potential method to improve the existing diagnostic criteria. OBJECTIVE To estimate the diagnostic accuracy of salivary anti-SSA/B antibodies in primary Sjögren's syndrome (pSS), and to analyze their correlations with clinical and laboratory profiles. STUDY DESIGN This study enrolled 100 pSS pa...
